Yannis Pantazis, PhD, is an Assistant Researcher at the Institute of Applied and Computational Mathematics of the Foundation of Research and Technology-Hellas, Greece. He received his BSc, MSc and PhD in Computer Science from the University of Crete in 2004, 2006 and 2010, respectively. He was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst from 2011 to 2015 and at the University of Crete between 2016 and 2017. His research interests include diverse areas of Data Science such as Applied Probability Theory, Uncertainty Quantification, Machine/Deep Learning, Signal/Speech Processing, Optimization Theory, Dynamical Systems and Bioinformatics. He is author of more than 35 referred scientific publications which has been presented in various high-ranking journals, conferences and workshops. In 2015, he received the 1st honorable mention (bronze medal) on DARPA’s Forecasting Chikungunya Outbreak Competition.
