Getting to Heraklion

Heraklion can be reached by air (Olympic and Aegean, scheduled flights throughout the year by Transavia and AirBerlin and many other flights in the April-October period) flying to Heraklion (Nikos Kazantzakis airport) and by ferry from Piraeus (Minoan lines, ANEK lines, Superfast Ferries).

Getting to the IACM-FORTH

Public Bus  to FORTH campus: There is a public bus going to FORTH campus. The starting point of the bus is the Airport or the Port. You can also take the bus from the city center from the bus station in front of Astoria Hotel (Eleytherias Square). The bus schedule is the following:
Airport-FORTH.: 07:15.
Port-FORTH: 08:38, 09:24, 14:29, 15:30, 16:30, 17:30, 19:45, 21:20
FORTH-Airport:  16:00, 17:00, 20:15, 21:45.
FORTH-Port: 08:00, 09:00, 10:00, 15:00, 18:00.

Public Bus to the University of Crete campus: (From the University campus IACM-FORTH is a 10 minute walk.)
Bus Schedule: Daily: 06:25, 07:50 and then every 1 hour until 18:50, 21:45. Saturday & Sunday: 06:50 and then every 1 hour until 18:50, 21:45. Also Line 11 to FORTH has a daily (except Saturday and Sunday) the following schedule: 07:20, 08:30, 11:30, 15:00, 17:20.

From Heraklion center
Line 11 from Airport, Port to General Hospital (PAGNI) -University campus. From the University campus the FORTH-IACM campus is a 10 minute walk.
Bus Schedule: Daily: 07:00, 07:15, 07:30, 07:45, 08:10, 08:20, 08:30, 08:40, 08:50, 09:15 and then every 15 min until 14:45, 15:20 and then every 20 min until 20:40, 21:15, 22:40. (The last drive of 22:40 returns to the Airport around 23:10). Also the drive of 21:15 on a daily basis has a stop at FORTH. Saturday & Sunday: 07:00, 07:30 and then every 1 hour until 19:30, 20:00, 20:40, 22:40 (the last drive of 22:40 returns to the Airport around 23:10)
