Neuropharm., U. of Oxford, 2000-2001, Assistant Professor of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Crete, 2005-, Dr. Dalezios studies the synaptic interactions between neurons to reveal the organization of neural networks in the brain including cortical and subcortical oculomotor areas/nuclei, the neocortex and hippocampus. Techniques used: 1) Juxtacellular recording and labelling of single neurons. 2) Immunohistochemistry for light and electron microscopy. He has co-authored more than 25 research papers, most of them, in high ranking refereed journals. He has managed a grant co-funded by EU and Greece (Pythagoras II) and has participated as a researcher in several grants funded by European and national sources. He has been training graduate students in neuroscience since 1994 and is/has been advisor/examiner of 18 doctoral dissertations. He is a founding member of the Hellenic Society for Neurosciences and a member of the Society for Neuroscience (USA).
