Panos Sapountzis is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Applied and Computational Mathematics, Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas. He holds a BSc in Applied Mathematics and an MSc in “Optics an Vision”, both from the University of Crete and a PhD from the University of Nottingham. His research interests are in the areas of visual and computational neuroscience. Panos has experience with advanced brain imaging techniques such as functional MRI (fMRI). He also uses psychophysical, computational and machine learning methods. He currently works with Prof. Georgia Gregoriou and uses simultaneous multi-electrode extracellular recordings from multiple areas to study the role of frontal and parietal cortices in visual search and visual memory.
