George Alexandrakis is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Applied and Computational Mathematics at the Foundation of Research and Technology – Hellas. He completed his studies in the Department of Geology and Geoenvironment of the University Athens in 2003 and has an MSc degree in Oceanography from the School of Science of the University of Athens since 2006. He received his PhD in Coastal Oceanography from the faculty of Geology and Geoenvironment of the University of Athens in 2011. His thesis is entitled “The development of a Beach Vulnerability Index (BVI) for the assessment of beach zone erosion in Greece”. His current research interests include coastal processes and sedimentation, coastal engineering, the impact of climate change on the coastal zone and coastal zone management.
