B.Sc. in Chemistry, University of Athens, 1994 M.Sc. in Neuroscience, University of Crete, 1997 PhD, University of Crete, 2001 Postdoctoral Fellow, University of Parma, 2001-2003 Research Fellow, Laboratory of Neuropsychology, NIMH, 2003-2006 Research Fellow, McGovern Instirute for Brain Research, MIT, 2006-2009 Lecturer of Physiology, University of Crete, 2008- Dr. Gregoriou has employed anatomical, imaging and electrophysiological techniques to study the anatomy and physiology of brain areas involved in visuomotor processing. She has co-authored 13 research papers, in high-profile refereed journals and has presented her work in numerous international scientific meetings. Her current research interests include the neural mechanisms of visual attention focusing on the role of feedback in attention. The techniques she employes include: 1) Simultaneous multi-electrode extracellular recordings from multiple areas, 2) permanent and reversible deactivation methods, 3) electrical micro-stimulation. Her research is currently being funded by the EU (Marie Curie International Reintegration Grant) and the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (PLATON Joint Research and Technology Programme between Greece and France).
